Indium Corp. Host Pb-free QuickStart Seminar at Nuremberg

Nuremberg, Germany — A group of world leaders in lead-free soldering and assembly will put on a daylong series of seminar presentations at the Hilton Hotel here on June 16.
The event has been planned close to the nearby SMT Exhibition to allow manufacturing management the opportunity to attend both events.
The Indium Corp., together with Vahid Goudarzi of Motorola, will explain in detail how Motorola implemented Pb-free solder in the production of more than 10 million cellular phones and covers initial quality and product implementation.
Ning Cheng Lee, Ph.D. and Ronald Lasky, Ph.D. of the Indium Corp. also will cover topics such as alloy selection and challenges and best practices of implementing Pb-free assembly.
A number of other presentations include Hewlett-Packard on implementation onto large boards. Gerjan Diepstraten of Vitronics- Soltec will discuss Pb-free wave soldering and Hans-Juergen Albrecht of Siemens will cover reliability of Pb-free interconnects.
Other presentations will be given by ACB, Peters and KIC. Ross Bernston of Indium will cover the subject of mixed technology in Pb-free assembly.
