Elcoteq's New Management to Take Over January 1

Helsinki, Finland — Elcoteq's Board of Directors has decided to speed up the change of top management in the company.
Jouni Hartikainen, MSc (Eng.), president, Asia-Pacific, takes over the position of president and CEO of Elcoteq Group on January 1, 2004. Jukka Jäämaa, LSc, currently president, Communications Network Equipment/Industrial Electronics, Europe, assumes the post of Executive Vice President of the company on the same date. Hartikainen and Jäämaa, whose appointments were announced on November 25, 2003, were originally scheduled to start in their new roles at the beginning of May 2004. Lasse Kurkilahti, Elcoteq's current president and CEO, is handling special duties assigned by the Board of Directors until the end of May 2004.
