December 5, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Binghamton, N.Y. — At the Productronica exhibition in November, held in Munich, Germany, Universal Instruments' Global Services division ran a series of daily draws with prizes valued around US $2,500 (1,500 pounds).
On the final day of the show, all the visitors' cards were entered for a Grand Draw for a prize worth up to US $58,500 (35,000 pounds).
Visitors to the Universal stand in Hall A4 wishing to discuss the company's support services were automatically entered into the draw for that day. Every afternoon, a business card was drawn at random by Bob Lamanna, Universal's director of global services, and a prize awarded. These prizes included Productivity Assessment visits, a Machine Assessment visit and Training Seats, each with a value between US $2,000 (1,200 pounds) and US $2,500 (1,500 pounds). The daily winners were:
- Tuesday, November 11 — Wilfried Wilhelm of Delphi
- Wednesday, November 12 — Fredrik Gren of Ericsson AB
- Thursday, November 13 — Gerhard Domnanovich of Siemens EWB
- Friday, November 14 — Birgit Menzel of Robert Bosch GmbH
In addition, all visitors were entered into the grand draw, which took place on the final day of the exhibition for a prize of one year's Gold-level Support Continuance — Universal Instruments' premier and most comprehensive support package — valued at up to US $58,500 (35,000 pounds). The Productronica visitor who walked away with this generous prize was Dieter Malig of Harman Becker.
