SMTA Launches First-ever Online Symposium
December 4, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Minneapolis — The SMTA will launch its first-ever SMTA Online Symposium, "The State of the Art in Pb-free Soldering Technology," on Friday, December 5.
The symposium will be held 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Pacific time; 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mountain time; 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central time; noon to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time; and 5 to 10:30 p.m. UK time.
Within this format, three speakers will deliver each a standard 90-minute online SMTA broadcast presentation, using telecon for the audio, Web file downloads for the presentation materials, and e-mail communication to submit questions. The three broadcast presentations are intended to address the materials, processes and reliability aspects of Pb-free soldering.
Respectively, the speakers will be Peter Biocca of Kester Northrop Grumman, Bob Willis of Electronic Presentation Services (UK), and Jean-Paul Clech of EPSI Inc.
Each of the three presentations may be purchased individually for $75/$135 member/non-member, or a package price of $195/$255 that includes all three presentations plus the new SMTA TechScan eBook Compendium, entitled "The State-of-the-Art in Pb-free Soldering Technology," which features 116 papers from a decade of SMTA annual conferences. The non-member prices include a one-year individual membership to SMTA.
As a special bonus, the attendee that submits the best question will receive a copy of the Lead-free Assembly & Soldering "CookBook" on CD. Originally conceived of in 1999 and produced by Bob Willis in partnership with the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), the CD publication is in its third revision and is the world's first interactive training resource on Pb-free assembly.
Read more about these presentations and how to receive the broadcast, and register securely on-line from the On-line Presentations page of the Education & Events section at www.smta.org/education/presentations/presentations.cfm.
