Two Facilities Acquired

ANDOVER, Mass. and PORTLAND, Ore. - Celestica Inc. completed its acquisition of Hewlett-Packard (HP) Co.`s surface mount center in Andover, Mass. The acquisition expands Celestica`s service offerings and brings its New England presence to more than 700 employees. The Andover operation will provide additional PCB assembly capabilities to the company`s service offerings in the Northeast United States, which currently includes systems integration, embedded systems design, logistics management and manufacturing services.
"This acquisition enhances our already strong presence in [this] region, where many of our customers are located," said Eugene Polistuk, president and chief executive officer of Celestica. "Additionally, it provides us with further product diversification into the growing medical equipment market segment."
The company also announced the completion of the acquisition of VXI Electronics, a provider of power conversion products and a designer and manufacturer of voltage regulator modules (VRM) and custom power supplies. VXI`s operation is located in the Portland, Ore., area.
"The acquisition of VXI expands Celestica`s customer base and enhances our power systems product and service offerings," concluded Polistuk.
