Datest Renews Dual ISO/AS9100 Certification and ITAR Registration
June 28, 2016 | DatestEstimated reading time: 3 minutes
Datest, a provider of advanced, efficient and mission-critical in-circuit testing, test engineering, flying probe, JTAG and X-ray inspection solutions, today announced that it has passed its recertification audit for its dual ISO9001 / AS9100C Certification. Datest is the only U.S. test engineering and test services company that has earned dual ISO/AS9100 Certification as well as ITAR Registration. The dual recertification is emblematic of Datest’s success and relentless drive to provide quality PCBA testing and inspection solutions to a discerning, engineering-based clientele. Both certifications are recognized and respected throughout the world as symbols of expertise, professionalism and general process control. AS9100 certification is often viewed as a prerequisite to aerospace manufacturing certification and AVL approval.
With this milestone, Datest maintains the appropriate certifications to serve the aviation, space and defense industries. AS9100 certification also affirms that Datest’s quality management system has been accepted by the aerospace industry and ensures compliance with meticulous contract review and adequate risk management throughout the supply chain, all of which has been demonstrated, by means of objective evidence, to the satisfaction of a third-party auditor. Recertification has a term of three years, to July 2019, subject to annual surveillance audits.
The AS9100 quality standard is based on ISO 9001, adding more stringent requirements specific to the aviation, space and defense industry, while striving to meet the needs of all associated stakeholders. Revision C is the fourth and latest release of the AS9100 standard, which takes in the revised requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and nearly 100 additional criteria specific to the aerospace industry. Revision C changes include greater focus on planning and project management, additional emphasis on risk management and mitigation, and the need to develop plans for continuous improvement of customer satisfaction.
“With the successful completion of this recertification, Datest now begins its seventh year with ISO9001/AS9100 certification as well as ITAR registration,” commented Robert Boguski, Datest’s President. “These are highly visible, industry-accepted markers for process control and management as well as security. We are proud to hold them, and privileged to serve our industry in the test engineering and analytical realm, as we have done for the past 32 years and will continue to do in the years ahead, as our business and our industry continue to evolve and innovate.”
A test engineering leader since 1984, Datest offers advanced, integrated PCBA testing and inspection services to the CM/EMS as well as the OEM community. A leading provider of in-circuit testing (ICT) and test development (hardware and software) for all major ICT platforms (Keysight 3070 with x1149, GenRad, and Teradyne), Datest augments ICT with SPEA Flying Probe testing, Automatic X-ray Inspection (AXI) , and DAGE Ruby 2D X-ray with X-Plane Technology, benchtop boundary scan and functional testing. Datest features non-destructive as well as destructive failure analysis of problematic PCBAs. Datest also has introduced reverse engineering services as well as analytical laboratory services (SEM, EDX, XRF, FTIR and C-SAM) for board-level as well as component-level failure analysis.
Datest has won multiple industry awards for its services, including two NPI Awards from Circuits Assembly Magazine (2011 and 2012) and three Global Technology Awards from Global SMT and Packaging Magazine (2011, 2013 and 2015). Most recently, Datest was the recipient of the prestigious Circuits Assembly 2016 Service Excellence Award at the IPC APEX Expo, in the category of testing laboratories.
