Current IssueIn Pursuit of Perfection: Defect Reduction
For bare PCB board fabrication, defect reduction is a critical aspect of a company's bottom line profitability. In this issue, we examine how imaging, etching, and plating processes can provide information and insight into reducing defects and increasing yields.
Voices of the Industry
We take the pulse of the PCB industry by sharing insights from leading fabricators and suppliers in this month's issue. We've gathered their thoughts on the new U.S. administration, spending, the war in Ukraine, and their most pressing needs. It’s an eye-opening and enlightening look behind the curtain.
The Essential Guide to Surface Finishes
We go back to basics this month with a recount of a little history, and look forward to addressing the many challenges that high density, high frequency, adhesion, SI, and corrosion concerns for harsh environments bring to the fore. We compare and contrast surface finishes by type and application, take a hard look at the many iterations of gold plating, and address palladium as a surface finish.

Insulectro Completes Move to New Mega Distribution Center in San Jose
July 6, 2017 | InsulectroEstimated reading time: 2 minutes

Insulectro has completed the move of its Silicon Valley branch operation from Mountain View to San Jose, CA, a move that puts its warehouse closer to its customers for better service.
Insulectro President and CEO Patrick Redfern said, “Our new facility on Paragon Drive in northern San Jose provides nearly double as much warehouse space and fabrication capability as our Mountain View location. This increased space will allow significant upgrades in processing systems and procedures that will improve our ability to service the changing needs of our Bay area customers. It’s been an exciting month transitioning our inventory and workforce across town while conducting business as usual.
“In fact, we never missed a beat with our quick-turn PumaFast™ program that focuses on keeping the right materials on our shelves for the immediate usage of our customers. Everyday materials that are needed every day. No delays because of the move,” Redfern continued.
Insulectro Vice President of Operations Jeff Mason added, “Moving our entire operation to a new location was a monumental task that required both careful planning and skilled execution. We moved a working warehouse 16 miles away with no business letup – deliveries had to go out on time. All the pieces needed to work in perfect sync under the direction of a dedicated team.”
VP of Technology and Branch Executive Chris Hunrath underscored Mason’s tribute. “Thankfully, the Insuelctro team is the best team in the business – not only in Silicon Valley but across all of our other locations," said Hunrath. "Everyone pitched in, working continuous long days, to be sure the impact to our customers was minimal. The move could not have been accomplished without the effort and dedication of all involved. We have made San Jose the stocking hub of Isola's new HSD materials.”
“Now we are even better prepared to deliver on our FastTrack initiative that moves Quick Turn orders significantly faster through the fabrication and order fulfillment processes. In our San Jose facility, we are better equipped to speed up and streamline both our delivery and Will Call response times,” Redfern concluded.
Insulectro has been the dominate distributor for PCB materials in the Bay area for the past 45 years from its Mountain View location. This new facility will better serve the growth the company has experienced in both the PCB and Printed Electronics markets with further space for expansion as business continues to grow.
