November 22, 2017 | HKPCA & IPCEstimated reading time: 4 minutes
The 2017 International Printed Circuit & APEX South China Fair (2017 HKPCA & IPC Show) will offer an abundance of learning and networking opportunities in its educational and social programs. As in past years, a highlight will be the International Technical Conference, featuring renowned expert speakers. This year’s show will also include the IPC China PCB Design Seminar and the challenging IPC China PCB Design Competition. The show will run from 6 to 8 December 2017 in Halls 1, 2 & 4 of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, China.
A Stimulating Array of Onsite Events
The HKPCA & IPC Show is known as one of the region’s leading showcases for every segment of the PCB industry, and again sets a new record this year with close to 550 confirmed exhibitors taking up more than 2,600 booths across more than 52,500 square meters of exhibition space. Equally important is the show’s wide selection of concurrent events, which provide abundant educational and networking opportunities, reflecting this year’s theme of “Global Wisdom. Local Presence,” meaning that the show helps to spread the collective wisdom of the worldwide industry for application to local actions.
At these events – including the popular annual Welcome Dinner and Golf Tournament – attendees can stay abreast of the latest industry innovations and hottest market trends while enjoying the opportunity to meet and connect with industry peers from all over the world. In combination with the show floor, they make the HKPCA & IPC Show a vital platform for participants to extend their business network with key decision makers in a relaxed environment.
International Technical Conference Explores the Latest Innovations and Trends
As in past years, the International Technical Conference will be divided into two streams – the market track and technical track – in each of which leading industry experts will share their in-depth insights into the latest trends and innovations. Among expected topics in the former will be Advancing HDI Technology, Mobile Intelligent Telecommunications, PCB Production for the Automotive Industry, Smart Manufacturing for PCB Production, Cleaning PCB / PCBA Flux Residual Process, Conformal Coating Trends, SFP for IC PKG and Potential for Smartphone Advanced Pattern Plating, An Innovatory Metallization Process for PCB Applications, and High Speed, High Efficiency, High Quality - Semi-reduced Type Chemical Nickel Gold, etc.
IPC China PCB Design Seminar and Competition
The PCB lies at the heart of every modern electronic device. To deliver its expected performance, design of the PCB requires consideration of many inter-related aspects such as electrical, thermal, structural, manufacturability, cost, cycle and more, all competing and influencing each other. Failure to consider any one of these adequately will lead to a poor product. The IPC PCB Designers Council China Branch aims to raise the standard of the PCB design industry through the sharing of relevant knowledge and skills. In this seminar, they offer guidance to designers on how to improve their work.
The IPC PCB Designers Council China Branch also stages the IPC China PCB Design Competition, which has been held four times since 2012. This event – the only professional PCB design contest – will again form part of the HKPCA and IPC Show, enabling PCB designers to demonstrate their expertise and helping to promote the development of the PCB design industry in China.

About Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association (HKPCA)
HKPCA is a non-profit-making association which was founded in Hong Kong during 2000. Being one of the members of the World Electronic Circuits Council (WECC) helps us to get not only closer connections with overseas printed circuit associations but also better communications. Other WECC members include: CPCA, EIPC, IPC, IPCA, JPCA, KPCA and TPCA. As the unique representative of the Hong Kong PCB industry, we aim to promote and protect the rights and interests of the industry. Performing the communication liaison role within the industry, a diversified communication platform is provided by HKPCA so that our members can be closely linked. Also, HKPCA represents the industry, expressing our ideas and opinions to the government and relevant organizations. HKPCA has more than 500 members. Total PCB production values reach around 9.6 billion dollars making up 34% of the PCB industry in China. Member categories range from PCB manufacturers, PCB equipment, suppliers of chemicals and raw materials, to other trade and software companies. HKPCA’s member base will be broadened by recruiting more and more qualified members. Through all our efforts, China’s PCB industry develops more prosperously.
