APCT Holdings Acquires Cartel Electronics & Affiliate Cirtech
January 15, 2018 | APCTEstimated reading time: 1 minute
APCT Holdings has acquired the Southern California based company Cartel Electronics and its affiliate company, Cirtech. With this acquisition, APCT now becomes one of the largest privately held printed circuit board manufacturers in North America.
With operations in Placentia, California, Cartel has been in business for over 27 years, led by a proven leadership team with a strong reputation in the industry. That team will now be enhanced by APCT’s capabilities and resources and will be asked to continue its business model as a manufacturer of prototype and quick turn rigid PCBs for commercial applications. The acquisition of Cartel brings APCT much needed capacity and regional support.
With operations in Orange, California, Cirtech has been in business for over 50 years. Cirtech’s rich history primarily has focused on the Defense & Aerospace industries. Its manufacturing not only produces Mil-Spec certified rigid, flex and rigid-flex technologies, but is supported by specific industry certifications: AS9100; NADCAP; MIL-P-55110 and is near final approval of certification MIL-PRF-31032. The acquisition of Cirtech brings APCT not only these highly desired industry certifications, but also the entry into the flex and rigid-flex marketplace.
According to APCT President and CEO Steve Robinson, “The management team of Cartel has built a solid reputation in our industry. The union with APCT brings together several of the top industry leaders forming a new and very dynamic team. The outstanding employees of both companies now come together with complimentary business models and core competencies. I am excited about the depth, experience and expanded capacity we now have to offer our valued customers and am enthusiastic about the potential synergy this acquisition presents.”
Commenting further, Bruce McMaster, President and CEO of Cartel Electronics stated, “We’re excited about the coming together of two philosophically aligned companies focused on commitment and trust with a passion unmatched in the industry.”
APCT will now have manufacturing sites in Northern California, Southern California and the East Coast providing high performance services to both commercial and military customers of rigid, flex and rigid-flex products. APCT will also continue to offer custom program management solutions through APCT Global.
