Goepel electronic once again generated record sales in the 2017 financial year. International sales in particular enjoyed record growth for 2017. With sales of around €38.5 million ($48 million), the record sales number achieved for 2016 was exceeded by 10%, demonstrating continued healthy growth for the company.
International sales has accounted for a large proportion of this success, rising 4.1% points year-on-year to reach 45.6% of total sales. This reflects the increasing global demand for the test and inspection solutions developed by Goepel electronic. This success is being driven and supported by a worldwide presence with offices in the USA, UK, China and India.
One of the most important sales markets in 2017 was the automotive industry. Automated test systems for car seat quality assurance have been delivered more frequently than ever before. The Inspection Solutions division, offering innovative technologies for optical and X-Ray inspection of electronic assemblies and components, also saw growth, driven by the numerous X-ray inspection systems purchased by electronics manufacturers. The Embedded JTAG Solutions business unit was able to further penetrate the market for electrical test and in-system programming with leading edge technologies for electrical assemblies, rounding out the successful year in 2017.
Goepel electronic was founded in 1991 in Jena/Germany. Since then, the company has steadily gained in size. Currently, about 230 employees work in the business units Automotive Test Solutions, Embedded JTAG Solutions, Inspection Solutions and Industrial Functional Test. In 2017, the fourth company building was opened. Goepel electronic's customers include small and medium-sized companies as well as global corporations in the automotive, aerospace, medical and telecommunications sectors.
