Bowman Appoints UK Distributor

Bowman has appointed SciMed, a distributor of scientific instruments serving the UK and Ireland, as its exclusive distributor for Bowman XRF plating thickness measurement systems in the UK. The announcement was made by Bowman President Tom Leone.
Paul Vanden Branden, an owner of SciMed, said, “Bowman is an exceptional addition to our portfolio. Their technical people are the best in the XRF industry, and they're recognized as a leader in XRF instrument technology, both here, and in US."
SciMed will represent Bowman XRF systems throughout the UK, and provide service and technical support. Bowman XRF equipment is tailored to the user's specific needs, and includes a broad range, from entry-level instruments to elite, "best in class" systems for the most demanding microelectronics applications. Like all Bowman global service partners, SciMed will also repair and upgrade other brands and models of XRF instruments.

Out of the AGM came notable changes in leadership at the top of the Institute: the retirement of Mat Beadel as chair and Emma Hudson as technical director. Effective May 1, Steve Driver is the new chair, and Alun Morgan is the new technical director.
