Current IssueEngineering Economics
The real cost to manufacture a PCB encompasses everything that goes into making the product: the materials and other value-added supplies, machine and personnel costs, and most importantly, your quality. A hard look at real costs seems wholly appropriate.
Alternate Metallization Processes
Traditional electroless copper and electroless copper immersion gold have been primary PCB plating methods for decades. But alternative plating metals and processes have been introduced over the past few years as miniaturization and advanced packaging continue to develop.

Spirit Circuits to Relocate Manufacturing Facility to Sister Company Lyncolec
July 2, 2018 | Spirit CircuitsEstimated reading time: 1 minute
At the beginning of this year, Spirit Circuits has decided to relocate its manufacturing facility in Waterlooville, Hampshire in the UK to its sister-company Lyncolec’s AS9100-accredited manufacturing plant in Poole, Dorset. This move combines two highly complementary businesses to create a central manufacturing site with the scale and technical capability to better serve customers and capitalize on growth opportunities.
Spirit Circuits’ head office will continue to be situated at 22-24 Aston Road, Waterlooville, from where the VAR operations, sales and technical support, and finance functions will be managed.
The move supports SCL PCB Group’s overall strategy to drive improvements for profitability and efficiency in its PCB solutions businesses. By consolidating its manufacturing capabilities, Spirit Circuits will streamline its operations and leverage operating efficiencies for both companies. Transferring Spirit Circuits’ production into the Lyncolec facility adds significant strategic value, differentiation and competitive advantage.
Manufacturing at the Waterlooville facility will cease at the end of July, after which all processing will take place at the Poole site, Spirit Circuits’ BATM Systems facility in Romania, or via a Spirit approved supplier in China.
The Spirit Circuits Sales and Engineering team will remain in place, and there will be no change to day to day points of contact.
