Unimicron China Subsidiary Fined for Violating Environmental Regulations

Unimicron Technology (Kunshan), a subsidiary of Taiwan-based PCB and IC substrate manufacturer Unimicron, has been fined CNY380,000 ($55,520) for breaking local environmental laws, Digitimes reports.
Unimicron indicated its Kunshan subsidiary had received an administrative order from the local environmental protection bureau seeking a CNY380,000 penalty for violating requirements for environmental impact assessment (EIA), such as requirements for plant facilities and water reuse. Unimicron will carry out measures, such as improvements to reusability of treated wastewater and better management of hazardous waste at the facility, in compliance with the local environmental regulations, according to Digitimes.
