Custom MMIC Awards Inaugural “Women in Engineering” Scholarships

Custom MMIC is pleased to announce the award of its inaugural “Women In Engineering” scholarships, which will help three young women pursue undergraduate degrees in engineering.
Custom MMIC, in partnership with the Greater Lowell Community Foundation, launched the “Women In Engineering” scholarship this past spring, with the goal of providing full tuition and fees to a recent female graduate of either Groton-Dunstable High School located in Groton, Massachusetts, or Westford Academy, located in Westford, Massachusetts. Custom MMIC received eleven outstanding applications for this award, and due to the quality of applicants, decided to expand the scope of the scholarship.
Emma Fournier of Groton, Massachusetts, who will attend Tulane University to study Chemical Engineering, was awarded the full scholarship totaling approximately $112,000 over four years. Grace Remillard of Groton, Massachusetts, who will attend the University of Massachusetts Lowell to study Electrical Engineering, and Sarah McKinley of Westford, Massachusetts, who will attend Clarkson University to study Mechanical Engineering, were each awarded partial scholarships totaling $40,000 over four years.
“We are very pleased to launch our scholarship program this spring,” said Paul Blount, president and CEO of Custom MMIC. “This has been a dream of mine for a few years now, so it is exciting to see it come to fruition. The three women chosen were impressive in their past accomplishments and future goals, and we are proud to play a part in their engineering education. We are also fortunate to have the Greater Lowell Community Foundation as our partner, for the logistical support they provide is a major reason we can offer these scholarships. We look forward to working with them for many years to come.”
Custom MMIC plans to offer the scholarship again next spring, and will likely increase the application pool to include other nearby towns.
