Current IssueEngineering Economics
The real cost to manufacture a PCB encompasses everything that goes into making the product: the materials and other value-added supplies, machine and personnel costs, and most importantly, your quality. A hard look at real costs seems wholly appropriate.
Alternate Metallization Processes
Traditional electroless copper and electroless copper immersion gold have been primary PCB plating methods for decades. But alternative plating metals and processes have been introduced over the past few years as miniaturization and advanced packaging continue to develop.

Photomask Maker Compugraphics to Exhibit at the 2019 Photonics Show
January 15, 2019 | MacDermid Alpha Electronics SolutionsEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
Compugraphics, a leading photomask manufacturer, and a brand operated under MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, announces they will exhibit at the 2019 SPIE Photonics West show, February 5 – 7 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. They will showcase their complete line of products at one of the world's largest photonics technologies events.
The team of experts will be on hand to discuss their wide range of offerings in the semiconductor, optoelectronics, photonics, and MEMS and Nanotechnology markets. Besides photomasks, they produce various precision imaged glass parts such as lenses, gratings, calibration tools for machine vison systems, reticles for microscopes, measurement templates, resolution targets and optical encoders to name a few. They will also discuss how they partner with clients to provide technical team support every step of the way. With locations in the Bay Area of California, Texas, Germany, Scotland and Singapore, they ensure fast response and quick-turn service.
“Attending as an exhibitor at this event allows us to show the industry that we do much more than standard semiconductor masks and reticles. Some of our photonics customers are using our photomasks to make lens apertures for lighting, displays and optoelectronic devices used in fiber optics. Being part of a now 1.2 billion dollar electronics company, gives us leverage to support the larger industry customers, while maintaining a personal level of service for any size customer or job,“ said Craig Durgy, director of sales north america, Compugraphics.
