Taiwan-based Flexium Interconnect expects its revenues and profits to improve quarter by quarter on more shipments of PI (polyimide) boards for antenna use, after hitting the bottom in the first quarter of 2019 on weak demand for smartphones, according to a Digitimes report.
Flexium saw its first-quarter 2019 revenues shrink by 20.5% from a year earlier to NT$4.34 billion ($140.37 million) and witnessed its net profits for the quarter plunge 53.3% on year to NT$115 million, largely attributed to sharp sales declines for iPhones in the first quarter. The company is now among main flexible board supply chain partners for iPhones.
