Four Smartphone Factors to Affect 2019 Taiwan PCB Output Value
June 4, 2019 | DigitimesEstimated reading time: Less than a minute
There will be four smartphone market factors affecting Taiwan's PCB production value for 2019, namely the penetration rate for high-end smartphones in emerging countries, deployments of flexible board supply chain, changes in smartphone designs, and impacts of US-China trade war, according to Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA).
TPCA estimated Taiwan's PCB output value for the second quarter of 2019 to surge to NT$152.6 billion ($4.84 billion) from the first quarter's NT$136.2 billion. TPCA said that if Apple, the largest client for most FPCB makers, can successfully penetrate iPhones into the India market, then its sales numbers will stand a chance of reaching 200 million units in 2019 and PCB partners may benefit as a result. But if the sales fall under 180 million units, then the revenues of the partners will be dragged down, Digitimes reports.
