Successful manufacturing of complex e-textiles concepts requires clear expectations, good communication, and an understanding of requirements. Skilled engineering and innovation utilizing various perspectives and expertise will allow for the successful integration of a multitude of industries and technologies. There are many missing pieces of the formula for mass producible e-textile products. Some of the challenges are the lack of standardization and enabling technologies, and the misalignment of knowledge and processes between the electronics and textile industries. We have learned some key tools over the past few years leveraging various fields of expertise to work toward transforming key challenges into a realized, high quality and manufacturable products.
