PCB manufacturer Tripod Technology has seen short lead-time orders from customers ramp up recently, and expects the pull-in of orders to carry on until later in the third quarter when new tariffs imposed by the US government on imports from China take effect.
Tripod Tech is among Taiwan-based PCB firms affected by the ongoing US-China trade war resulting in tariff hikes on China-made notebooks, tablets and other mass-market consumer electronics devices. Nevertheless, Tripod Tech's financial results for the second quarter outperformed other Taiwan-based PCB makers, thanks to the company's focus on mid-range handsets and other devices.
