Brexit may have heated up the minds throughout Europe, but there is also some all-round positive news from the United Kingdom: Wurth Electronics UK increased its sales from GBP 2.4 to 3.2 million in 2019—an increase of 34% compared to the previous year.
Technology at the cutting edge
“Our product portfolio covers simple to complex technologies and includes HDI as well as embedded systems and flex-rigid printed circuit boards,” explains Thomas Beck, Managing Director Sales & Marketing. “We are obviously meeting the needs of the market, as the growth in the UK in 2019 impressively demonstrates. Flex-rigid technology in particular is a key driving force behind this development and is enjoying growing demand throughout the industry, as the above-average sales increases in this area show.” The forecasts for the current fiscal year are correspondingly positive: “We assume that our company in the UK will again grow significantly in 2020,” Beck predicts.
High level of expertise as a success factor
Small, but with a high level of expertise: that is what characterises the team at Wurth Electronics UK. Two sales representatives, as well as one employee in the office and one technical sales engineer, ensure that customers can obtain all products from one source—from prototypes to large series—including expert advice. The company receives support in terms of logistics and production know-how from its German parent company, Würth Elektronik Circuit Board Technology (CBT). As Europe's largest manufacturer of printed circuit boards, with a worldwide turnover of around EUR 154 million, CBT has a wealth of experience under its roof. In addition to three PCB production plants in Germany, the company can also rely on Asian suppliers.
