Before that, Dr. Kaplun was the CTO and co-founder of Phononics Technologies Ltd., a partnership between the ELTA/Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and ICDAT (Israeli Center of Advance Diamond Technology). Before that, Dr. Kaplun has spent 25 years with the IAI as the CTO, co-founder, and Acting General Manager of Gal-El, unique GaAs, GaN, InP, and MEMS devices, and MMICs FAB.
Dr. Kaplun earned his Ph.D. from NPO “Center of Sciences” in Moscow and B.Sc. & M.Sc. in Material Science in Microelectronics from the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technique, Zelenograd, and Material Science Department.
Dr. Kaplun will be responsible for implementing the company’s innovation strategy while combining subtractive and additive technologies.
On a personal note – Dr. Kaplun strongly believes that anyone engaging in solid-state technology should have a sense for mixing materials, as do cooks. Cooking is his passion outside the workplace. Born and raised in Uzbekistan, one of the culinary gems along the ancient Silk Road, he remains faithful to its cooking traditions.
