IPC APEX EXPO 2022: What to Expect Regarding COVID Restrictions
December 8, 2021 | Alicia Balonek, IPCEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
As IPC is adhering to California Department of Public Health Guidelines, proof of COVID vaccination or a negative test will be required to attend IPC APEX EXPO 2022.
IPC has partnered with InHouse Physicians (iHP) for attendees to upload their proof of vaccine or negative COVID test results in advance of arrival at IPC APEX EXPO. Once information is uploaded via the iHP link, a trained medical professional will review the information within 24 hours and provide an email confirmation with a green check mark indicating they’ve been cleared for entry.
Upon arrival at IPC APEX EXPO, attendees will need to check in at the COVID clearance desk and provide a copy of the COVID clearance confirmation they received from iHP. Once cleared for entry, attendees will receive a plastic wristband and can then proceed to the registration counter to receive their badge. Attendees are asked to wear their COVID clearance wristband for the duration of their stay at IPC APEX EXPO.
Although there are currently no social distancing requirements in the State of California, colored wristbands will be provided for exhibitors and attendees to indicate their comfort level for interaction while at the event:
- Green: Comfortable with handshakes and hugs
- Yellow: Prefer only fist bumps or elbow bumps
- Red: Interaction with social distancing
IPC will be following the State of California’s guidelines; masks will be required for unvaccinated people and masks are recommended for those who have been vaccinated.
Masks, individual hand sanitizers, and hand sanitizer stations will be available for all exhibitors and attendees while at IPC APEX EXPO.
The San Diego Convention Center has enhanced its cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention protocols. IPC is working closely with the convention center to ensure high-touch items are cleaned and sanitized multiple times a day through the duration of IPC APEX EXPO 2022.
Additionally, the San Diego Convention Center became one of the first convention centers in the United States to achieve the prestigious GBAC STAR™ facility accreditation. Under the guidance of the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), the convention center is implementing a program of stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention.
Centerplate, the food and beverage provider for the San Diego Convention Center, was the first North American venue to achieve the Rise SAFE hygiene verification label for food and beverage services. To earn the label, Centerplate passed a site audit and protocol review covering 36 checkpoints in four core areas: process, people/training, facilities, and hygiene/cleaning. Centerplate demonstrated 100% compliance across all areas.

Advocacy: There’s No Time to Waste
05/21/2024 | Marcy LaRont, PCB007 MagazineIn the late 1990s, I worked for a PCB company ardently working to build manufacturing presences in Malaysia, Taiwan, and eventually China’s mainland. For some of us who had the resources, we followed our OEM customers offshore as they began demanding increasingly greater price concessions from their stateside suppliers. The government was not coming to the rescue of the PCB manufacturer, so we rode the changing economic tide as it turned unwaveringly toward globalism and cheaper labor.

Zentech First to Adopt IPC Apprenticeship National Program Standards
05/20/2024 | Cory Blaylock, IPCIPC achieved a landmark in 2023 by creating an apprenticeship program approved by the U.S. Department of Labor. With such a registered framework in place, industry can work through IPC to secure local, state, and federal dollars for workforce development in a way they’ve never been able to do before. Zentech Manufacturing, headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, with production facilities in Bloomington, Illinois, and Richardson, Texas, is the first employer partner to adopt IPC’s national program. I-Connect007 Editor’s Choice: Five Must-Reads for the Week
05/17/2024 | Andy Shaughnessy, Design007 MagazineThis week, trade shows are at the top of our feed, with our coverage of the Del Mar Electronics and Manufacturing Show and IPC APEX EXPO. These two longtime events are almost polar opposites in size and scope, but Del Mar seems to be expanding from its roots as a “neighborhood gathering” with its move into the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The Del Mar show always has a good “buzz factor,” which is something you can’t buy.
IPC APEX EXPO: Some Thoughts About Growth
05/16/2024 | Dan Feinberg, I-Connect007After two and a half days of wandering the aisles at IPC APEX EXPO 2024, for the first time, I almost felt like I was exploring CES. There were so many booths and exhibits that I could describe, but I’d like to focus on the growth and huge value of this event, which has expanded well beyond just the growing and impressive exhibit show floor.
