AT&S Launches New State-of-the-art Website
November 25, 2022 | AT&SEstimated reading time: 1 minute

We’re online! The launch of the completely re-designed website www.ats.net is a great moment for the Communications team and for AT&S. “Our website is our calling card on the web”, says Gerald Reischl, Vice President Corporate Communications, and explains the multi-layer functionality: “It is the first point of contact for future employees, the research platform for journalists and analysts, the information pool for investors and the digital shop window for existing and future customers and suppliers.”
The whole team had invested thousands of working hours and in total more than one and a half year – and it paid off. The domain ats.net with its origin in 2001 now shines in a new light. Reischl: “We created a new state-of-the-art corporate website that reflects AT&S’s brand identity and industry leadership.” It supports digital marketing activities, will drive new leads, retain or upsell existing customers and will increase traffic. The security concept has been aligned with leading IT security experts. With Increon GmbH from Munich (GER), our partner agency for branding and corporate design, the website project was on time and below budget.
Concerning the looks and feel of the new website it was the job of Mirjam Leitner, Manager Corporate Design at AT&S and responsible for rebranding the visual identity of AT&S. “At first glance, the website conveys innovation, responsibility and open-mindedness – in line with the values of our corporate culture”, Leitner explains. The new website is based on a one-pager layout with strong information, explainer videos and an avant-garde, technological AT&S imagery. The corporate colors match the site: green for sustainability, yellow for people and careers and digital cyan for the technology pages. “Of course, ats.net has a responsive design and is mobile friendly”, Leitner adds. Speaking of mobile: A new app for employees is on the way, as well as new tools for intranet and infoscreens.

Incorvaia, Siemens’ senior VP of electronic board systems. Joe discussed how he, Rick Almeida, and Ken Tepper launched the company in the months after 9/11 and how the acquisition came about. A.J. provides some background on the acquisition and explains why the companies’ tools are complementary.
Elementary Mr. Watson: Retro Routers vs. Modern Boards—The Silent Struggle on Your Screen
06/26/2025 | John Watson -- Column: Elementary, Mr. WatsonThere's a story about a young woman preparing a holiday ham. Before putting it in the pan, she cuts off the ends. When asked why, she shrugs and says, "That's how my mom always did it." She asks her mother, who gives the same answer. Eventually, the question reaches Grandma, who laughs and says, "Oh, I only cut the ends off because my pan was too small." This story is a powerful analogy for how many PCB designers approach routing today.

Cadence AI Autorouter May Transform the Landscape
06/19/2025 | Andy Shaughnessy, Design007 MagazinePatrick Davis, product management director with Cadence Design Systems, discusses advancements in autorouting technology, including AI. He emphasizes a holistic approach that enhances placement and power distribution before routing. He points out that younger engineers seem more likely to embrace autorouting, while the veteran designers are still wary of giving up too much control. Will AI help autorouters finally gain industry-wide acceptance?
Beyond Design: The Metamorphosis of the PCB Router
06/18/2025 | Barry Olney -- Column: Beyond DesignThe traditional PCB design process is often time-consuming and labor-intensive. Routing a complex PCB layout can consume up to 30% of a designer’s time, and addressing this issue is not straightforward. We have all encountered this scenario: You spend hours setting the constraints and finally hit the Go button, only to be surprised by the lack of visual appeal and the obvious flaws in the result.
