Beyond the Rulebook
What happens when the rule book is no longer useful, or worse, was never written in the first place? In today’s fast-moving electronics landscape, we’re increasingly asked to design and build what has no precedent, no proven path, and no tidy checklist to follow. This is where “Design for Invention” begins.
March Madness
From the growing role of AI in design tools to the challenge of managing cumulative tolerances, these articles in this issue examine the technical details, design choices, and manufacturing considerations that determine whether a board works as intended.

Matrix Building Equipment Demonstration Room at the Toronto Location
October 4, 2023 | Matrix ElectronicsEstimated reading time: Less than a minute
Matrix Electronics will soon complete the construction of their PCB Equipment Demonstration Room at the Matrix headquarter in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This demonstration room will offer a fully automated dry film lamination and mylar peeling line. Equipment in this line will include Advanced Engineering auto load and unload, the Matrix EC-24 electrostatic panel cleaner, Hakuto 6630NP dry film laminator, and Advanced Engineering PMA101-CPB mylar peeler, CSB buffer unit and conveyors. Project completion is scheduled for late October 2023.
“We are excited about introducing the capability for customers to bring their own panels to test with the latest PCB automation equipment. It’s one thing to review data sheets and PowerPoint presentations about equipment capabilities and quite another to experience the process firsthand with your own panels and to see how process automation and robotics can improve productivity and quality,” remarked Bob Berg, VP Business Development and Manager of Matrix Equipment Group.
