Electrolube, global manufacturer of specialist electro-chemical solutions, has announced the launch of a brand-new series of silver conductive inks for multiple adhesive processes designed for use during the manufacture of LCD, LCM, and OLED displays and display modules for mobile/smart phones, tablets and many other electronic products. The new silver ink series exhibits excellent electrical conductivity and good adhesion to a vast array of substrates, particularly those within the LCD market. The LCM and OLED markets are also suited to the Electrolube range of silver inks, but the key area remains the LCD market.
Electrolube, part of the Tour de Force of brands owned by MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, is currently celebrating a 20-year anniversary of the inauguration of its first China factory. The company was acquired as a business by MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions back in May 2021 and is enjoying the support and vision demonstrated by the new ownership.
The new series of adhesive silver conductive inks has been specifically designed to reduce surface and FPC static electricity in smartphone screens, notebook screens, and TV screens. The new range of silver conductive inks will be launched at C-Touch & Display Shenzhen, Nov 30 – Dec 2, 2022, on booth #16A01.
Electrolube’s new range not only delivers in terms of performance but also increases production throughput. The process advantages of Electrolube’s conductive silver inks lie in their wide-ranging capabilities, extended run time with continuous dispensing, no breakage in threads or needles, low temperature properties, excellent storage stability, excellent weather resistance and extremely fast cure time. Typically, a 40um coating will rapidly surface dry in 10 minutes at room temperature, making it ideally suited for mass continuous production lines.
The scope of viscosity ranges from 3000 CPS to 20000 CPs with the low viscosity SCPT and SCPW-6 meeting the needs of spray valve dispensing and thin layer applications, whilst SCPH, SCPW and SCP-HV are more suited for needle valve dispensing and low volume shrinkage. The silver inks also show excellent levelling performance with seamless ohmic contact and adhesion with the substrate. After complete cure, the silver conductive inks demonstrate solid electrical conductivity with volume resistivity at <10-3 Ω.cm, ensuring swift and effective export of excess electrostatic charge through the system to avoid damage to the display panel.
Protecting a display from damage due to electrical charge accumulation is important for LCD, LCM and OLED display as the excess build-up of charge can result in green spot, green flash, or green display on LCD, LCM and OLED displays leading to temporary damage that may be recoverable or in worst cases, leave permanent damage of the device display. In some instances, this can even apply to displays covered by glass. Electrolube’s new generation of silver conductive ink is suitable for all aspects of display performance and reliability. The silver conductive inks will be available in a range of sizes including 5ml, 10ml and 30ml.

Solder Printing: A 1:1 Ratio of Technical and Creative
09/03/2024 | Nolan Johnson -- Column: Nolan's NotesWhen things get technical, I’m in my happy place. It’s why I work in technology in the first place. I also happen to enjoy creative pursuits, and my real happy place is when both happen at the same time. Over the years, it seems that most of us engaged in printed circuit design and manufacturing are similarly wired. I don’t think I’m alone in stating that finding a creative solution to a technical problem is one of the highlights of our workday. We get bonus points if the solution is particularly simple or uncomplicated.
