The real cost to manufacture a PCB encompasses everything that goes into making the product: the materials and other value-added supplies, machine and personnel costs, and most importantly, your quality. A hard look at real costs seems wholly appropriate.
Alternate Metallization Processes
Traditional electroless copper and electroless copper immersion gold have been primary PCB plating methods for decades. But alternative plating metals and processes have been introduced over the past few years as miniaturization and advanced packaging continue to develop.

All Flex Solutions Certified to ANSI/ESD S20.20-2021
September 19, 2024 | All Flex SolutionsEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Factories that handle ESD-sensitive components at All Flex Solutions have earned certification to ANSI/ESD S20.20-2021 Electrostatic Discharge Control Program.
The certification applies to the manufacture of flexible circuits, flexible heaters, and SMT and assembly of rigid flex circuits. All Flex Solutions offers SMT and Assembly for any of their bare board customers as an additional value-added service.
The assembly side of the business has grown over the years, and so too has the complexity of today’s electronic components, creating an environment where electrostatic discharge elimination is essential for high reliability, never fail electronics.
Eric Matuska, VP of Engineering and Quality commented, “As we have taken on more assembly, the need for certification was apparent. This journey started in November 2023 and the team worked diligently in preparation for the audit on July 30-31."
Matuska continued, "Certification to ANSI/ESD S20.20-2021 gives our customer’s confidence that we have controls in place to prevent failure of sensitive electrical components. The controls we have in place also prevent failures internally. This is especially important as we will be producing more and more complex assemblies. A big thank you to the Process Engineering and Operations teams for making this happen, and a special thank you to Ross Paulson for leading the certification process.”
