GÖPEL electronic Presents Pioneering Test Solutions at Embedded World
January 27, 2025 | GÖPEL electronicEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
From 11-13 March 2025, the embedded world Exhibition & Conference, the annual industry meeting place for the embedded community, will open its doors in Nürnberg. As one of the leading providers of solutions for testing and programming with JTAG/Boundary Scan, GOEPEL electronic will be showcasing its hardware and software systems in Hall 4 at Stand 320. The focus will be on the new versions of the award-winning in-system programmer FlashFOX and the world's first AI-supported test coverage analyser smartTCA. The latest developments for testing camera, display and video applications as well as for ECU testing and residual bus simulation in the automotive sector will also be on show.
The award-winning stand-alone programmer FlashFOX is a tried-and-tested tool for embedded in-system programming (ISP) of microcontrollers, flash devices and PLD/FPGA. It can be flexibly adapted to different programming requirements. The number of programming channels is scalable and allows the simultaneous programming of several devices on one module or several modules in parallel. The FlashFOX will be shown for the first time at Embedded World in the extended streaming version. The new streaming mode introduces an additional operating mode to complement the stand-alone mode. The key difference lies in the dynamic transfer of programming data directly from a central server instead of using images stored locally in the programmer. This enables the handling of dynamically target-encrypted data, which significantly increases flexibility in use.
The smartTCA offers efficient test coverage analysis with AI support: Based on the training of over 1000 projects, the AI first classifies the modules. It also recognises the device structures (e.g. power/ground pins, address/control/data lines, JTAG bus signals) as well as the architecture of the board and generates pseudo library models. The SYSTEM CASCON test generators read these models and generate theoretical tests, such as infrastructure tests, interconnection tests, RAM tests or flash tests. The theoretically possible, estimated test coverage at pin, network and device level is then output in the conventional manner. This enables users to assess the potential of using embedded instruments in a focussed manner and implement appropriate test strategies.
For interested parties from the automotive sector, GOEPEL electronic will be presenting the combination of the user-friendly Dragon Suite application software and the Video Dragon as a versatile hardware interface. This powerful and modular solution for testing camera and display-based driver assistance systems (ADAS) can be seen in live demos. It supports the current transmission standards for GMSL, FPD-Link, APIX and, most recently, MIPI A-PHY technology, including the sideband protocols used. Series 62 multibus communication controllers are available for testing and flashing complex control units (ECUs) and for dynamic residual bus simulation. They support bus interfaces such as CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay and Automotive Ethernet 10Base-T1S and 100/1000Base-T1.
