The Women in Electronics Reception at IPC APEX EXPO on Tuesday, March 19, from 6–7:30 p.m., promises to be an evening of inspiration, camaraderie, and empowerment. With the theme “Eagerly Empowering Worn-Out Professionals with Humor, Hindsight, and Hallelujahs,” the event aims to rejuvenate and energize professionals in the electronics industry, a sector where women are underrepresented yet make invaluable contributions.
Keynote speaker Jody Urquhart will lead an interactive and uplifting presentation, offering meaningful insights designed to cultivate a positive, “can-do” attitude in the workplace. Her talk will blend humor with practical wisdom, encouraging attendees to reimagine their approach to work and life. Through humor and hindsight, Jody aims to ignite a sense of purpose and joy in attendees, helping them envision and create the fulfilling work-life balance they’ve always desired.
The reception also serves as a reminder of the critical importance of supporting women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields. Women currently comprise about 28% of the STEM workforce, with even smaller percentages in specialized areas like engineering and electronics. Events like this play a pivotal role in addressing the gender gap by providing women with a platform to connect, share experiences, and find mentors and allies.
