April 2, 2025 | Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. received a high evaluation for the information disclosure made through our Murata Value Report (integrated report), leading to us being presented with the award for excellence at the fourth annual Nikkei Integrated Report Awards, organized by Nikkei Inc. This is the fourth consecutive year that Murata has received an award, following on from the Grand Prix S Award we received at the third annual Nikkei Integrated Report Awards.
We have been publishing the Murata Value Report since 2018 with the purpose of having constructive dialogue with our stakeholders. This report effectively communicates our efforts to enhance our corporate values over the medium to long term and share our value creation story.
For the 2024 edition of the Murata Value Report, we focused explanations on the following three points, and reduced the number of pages compared to the previous year, with the aim of making it a more useful communication tool that deepens understanding of Murata’s sustainable value creation and aims for value co-creation.
- Clearly communicate the status of initiatives and issues that need to be addressed with respect to 3-layer portfolio management, which is at the core of our growth strategy.
- Enhance disclosure pertaining to the various forms of management capital that are the sources of value creation, and highlight Murata’s ability to execute on strategies.
- Organize page and section structure to enhance linkage with our other media and better help readers to systematically understand Murata’s value creation story.
Additionally, our messages from management, such as the “Message from the President,” were also highly rated, with the judges specifically noting, “The report clearly describes how management practices are based on the company’s philosophy, interspersed with examples from the past.” “The report succinctly summarizes the company’s vision for 2030, its shortcomings in terms of capital, and its priority initiatives, all underpinned by a clear understanding of management resources.” “The discussion with outside directors reveals the effectiveness of the company’s governance, and the content of the discussion helps readers to gain a deeper understanding of the company’s issues.”
Going forward, we will continue to openly disclose information so that our stakeholders can have a better understanding of our initiatives and with the aim of improving Murata’s corporate values by co-creating value through constructive dialogue with stakeholders.

It’s Only Common Sense: Price—Is That All You’ve Got?
05/26/2025 | Dan Beaulieu -- Column: It's Only Common SenseAll I hear about is price, and I have to ask: Is that all you have? Do you think there’s no difference between what you and your competitor do, except for price? I understand it’s tempting to focus on price as a primary selling point, but it’s not the most important thing customers care about.
