Koh Young Installs 24,000th Inspection System at Fabrinet Chonburi
April 23, 2025 | Koh YoungEstimated reading time: 2 minutes

Koh Young, the global leader in True 3D measurement-based inspection and metrology solutions, proudly announces the installation of its 24,000th inspection system at Fabrinet Chonburi in Thailand. This advanced facility is operated by Fabrinet Co., Ltd., a global provider of advanced manufacturing services, specializing in complex optical, electro-optical, and electronic products. Fabrinet is known for working behind the scenes with many major technology companies, producing some of the most advanced components in areas like networking and photonics. The milestone system, a Meister S solder paste inspection (SPI) solution, was part of a multi-machine shipment delivered during 1Q 2025. A ceremony recognizing the achievement was held at the Chonburi site with members of companies celebrating the momentous investment.
Fabrinet Chonburi now operates over thirty Koh Young SPI and automated optical inspection (AOI) systems, underscoring its focus on quality and process control. Across its global operations, Fabrinet has installed nearly 100 Koh Young systems in Thailand, the U.S., the United Kingdom, and Israel.
Designed for high-density, high-precision manufacturing, the Meister S helps identify common printing defects such as insufficient solder volume or misalignment before they impact production. As product complexity increases, accurate and reliable inspection becomes more important. The Meister S delivers the performance needed to meet tight tolerances and customer expectations.
“We rely on inspection to maintain quality and drive productivity,” said Mr. Kwanchai Sa-Ardiam, Senior Engineering Manager at Fabrinet. “Our products, including automotive, server boards, fiber optic engines, and high-end computing, require precision. Koh Young has helped us reduce defects and improve throughput in a highly competitive environment.”
Before implementing Koh Young solutions, Fabrinet experienced challenges with inconsistent solder paste application and false calls in AOI. “Koh Young helped us address these issues and improve our production standards. Their equipment, paired with strong local support, makes them a dependable long-term partner,” Mr. Sa-Ardiam added.
He also praised the training and onboarding process. “Our teams adapted quickly, thanks to clear instruction and hands-on coaching. The experience has been smooth, well-supported, and highly effective from start to finish.”
As Fabrinet continues to expand its production of optical networking components for data centers and AI applications, advanced inspection remains critical. “We expect Koh Young to continue innovating with AI-driven solutions and delivering competitive system performance,” said Mr. Sa-Ardiam.
Koh Young is proud to celebrate this 24,000th system milestone with a trusted partner committed to continuous improvement. The achievement highlights the value of long-term collaboration in advancing manufacturing performance worldwide.
