Zhen Ding Chairman Shen Chang-Fang Awarded Honorary Doctorate by National Central University

Shen Chang-Fang, Chairman of Zhen Ding Technology Group and a guiding figure in the global printed circuit board (PCB) industry, has demonstrated outstanding cross-domain integration and leadership capabilities, making exceptional contributions to the development of Taiwan's high-tech industry. On June 14, National Central University (NCU) held the "Ceremony Conferring an Honorary Doctorate upon Mr. Shen Chang-Fang" at the Grand Auditorium of its Teaching and Research Building. The event was attended by distinguished guests and conducted with great solemnity. Mr. Shen Chang-Fang remarked emotionally, "This honorary doctorate is not only recognition but also a motivating force."

President Hsiao Shu-San of National Central University stated that since Mr. Shen Chang-Fang became Chairman of Zhen Ding Technology in 2005, he has led the company to become the global leader in the printed circuit board industry through steadfast conviction and precise vision. Such achievements embody a profound sense of personal and corporate responsibility towards professional expertise, social industry, and national economic development. Chairman Shen’s integrity and principled conduct align perfectly with NCU’s motto of "Sincerity and Simplicity." His outstanding contributions to Taiwan’s industrial upgrading, educational innovation, and social progress are truly remarkable. Therefore, the university has specially conferred upon him the honorary degree of Doctor of Management to honor his exceptional accomplishments and exemplify his model leadership.

The honorary doctorate conferral ceremony featured three speakers who highlighted Mr. Shen Chang-Fang’s distinguished contributions from various perspectives:

• Mr. Ko Chen-En, Honorary Professor of the College of Management at National Taiwan University and Director of Avary Holdings Co., Ltd.
• Mr. Mao Chi-Kuo, Honorary Professor of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and Senior Corporate Advisor of Zhen Ding Technology Group.
• Mr. Chang San-Cheng, Mayor of Taoyuan City.

Ko Chen-En noted that Mr. Shen Chang-Fang’s extensive experience across multiple industries has forged his unique management philosophy, and he always perseveres in the face of challenges. Mao Chi-kuo stated that Mr. Shen’s corporate management is a "textbook-level" classic example: "Vision determines perspective." Chairman Shen Chang-Fang has fostered an excellent corporate culture, achieving a win-win outcome for both the enterprise and society. Chang San-Cheng highlighted that Mr. Shen Chang-Fang embodies the altruistic spirit of "sharing joy with others is better than enjoying alone," and has long supported outstanding talents in education and industry, demonstrating his deep commitment to talent cultivation.

As Chairman of Zhen Ding Technology, Mr. Shen Chang-Fang has led the company to rank first globally in the PCB industry for eight consecutive years—an unprecedented achievement in the sector. His management philosophy can be summarized as "Kindness, Perseverance, Altruism, and Gratitude." Despite the PCB industry’s early reputation as highly polluting, Zhen Ding invested heavily in environmental facilities, exceeding required standards. The company has been consecutively selected for the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for three years, making it the only PCB enterprise from Taiwan to receive this recognition.

His contributions extend beyond corporate success. He firmly believes that business achievements must go hand-in-hand with social responsibility. Guided by the mission to "Develop technology for the benefit of humanity; Advance environmental protection for a better Earth," he has promoted green manufacturing and ESG governance, embedding sustainability deeply into the company’s core culture. Under his leadership, the company became the world’s first PCB manufacturer to achieve the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) Platinum Certification for sustainable water management. In 2024, it ranked first in its industry in S&P Global’s ESG assessment, receiving international acclaim for its sustainability performance.

Mr. Shen Chang-Fang humbly shared that during his student years, he never received a single award. "Today, wearing this doctoral cap fills me not only with deep emotion but also immense gratitude." Now in his seventies, he remains passionate about his work. Receiving this honor from National Central University reminds him to continue upholding his kind nature, persevering spirit, altruistic mindset, and grateful heart, striving to elevate the company’s stature and pioneer new horizons for the industry.
