Beyond the Rulebook
What happens when the rule book is no longer useful, or worse, was never written in the first place? In today’s fast-moving electronics landscape, we’re increasingly asked to design and build what has no precedent, no proven path, and no tidy checklist to follow. This is where “Design for Invention” begins.
March Madness
From the growing role of AI in design tools to the challenge of managing cumulative tolerances, these articles in this issue examine the technical details, design choices, and manufacturing considerations that determine whether a board works as intended.

September 19, 2025 | MPK Kemmer GmbH PCB ToolsEstimated reading time: 1 minute
After entering preliminary insolvency proceedings in November 2024, MPK Kemmer GmbH PCB Tools has now been acquired by Guangdong Dtech Technology Co., Ltd., based in China, effective August 1, 2025. Both companies specialize in the development and production of carbide tools for the printed circuit board (PCB) industry.
The acquisition secures the company’s future in Germany and sets the course for expansion: Dtech plans to expand and modernize the production site in Schwäbisch Gmünd, enhancing capacity and advancing technological competitiveness. Operations will be carried on by a new entity named MPK Kemmer DTECH GmbH from October 1st on.
Florian Kemmer will continue as Managing Director. Timo Ostertag will remain Head of Sales, responsible for domestic and international sales operations.
“We are pleased to have found a strong strategic partner in Dtech who not only shares our technical vision but is also clearly committed to the future of our operations in Germany,” says Florian Kemmer.
Roger Lin, President of Guangdong Dtech Technology Co., Ltd., emphasizes: “Europe is a key growth market with strong technological potential. With the acquisition of MPK Kemmer, we are making a long-term commitment beyond Asia. It is particularly important to us to rely on the expertise, stability, and continuity of the existing German team. The familiar contacts and the high qualifications of the employees are essential to our shared success.”
With this acquisition, Dtech aims to strengthen its position in the European market, create synergies in development and production, and collaborate closely with customers and partners to jointly drive innovation in PCB tool solutions.
