Zerova, WAGO Validate Seamless Modbus Integration for Smarter EV Charging
October 3, 2025 | CisionEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Zerova Technology, a global leader in EV charging solutions, and WAGO, a trusted name in industrial automation and interconnection technologies, have successfully completed a joint validation to ensure full interoperability between Zerova’s EV chargers and WAGO’s Modbus-based industrial controllers.
This collaboration brings together the engineering expertise of both companies to deliver a robust, flexible integration—critical for operators scaling EV infrastructure across commercial, fleet, and industrial environments. With Modbus interoperability now confirmed, customers can deploy Zerova chargers with WAGO controllers confidently, gaining key operational advantages:
- Resilience – Local control via WAGO ensures uninterrupted charging even during cloud or OCPP outages.
- Faster Response – On-premise commands reduce latency, enabling real-time adjustments.
- Flexibility – A hybrid architecture supports both local and cloud intelligence for optimized performance and grid interaction.
“This validation with WAGO is about more than just interoperability—it’s about delivering real operational advantages for our customers,” said Manny Huguez, President of Zerova Technologies USA. “We’re enabling infrastructure that not only meets today’s demands but is prepared for tomorrow’s energy services.”
The partnership also supports broader goals around energy optimization, scalable growth, and sustainability. By bridging EV charging technology with proven industrial protocols, Zerova and WAGO are helping customers future-proof their infrastructure for load balancing, microgrid integration, and smart energy management.
Jesse Cox, WAGO’s VP of Automation for the Americas, noted “This collaboration with Zerova gives our customers across the Americas a smarter way to scale EV charging—one that’s practical, reliable, and built for real-world commercial demands. It’s not just about better technology; it’s about helping businesses adapt to current needs and long-term environmental goals. That’s the kind of sustainability that drives real impact.”
