Technica USA Receives Recognition at PCBAA Annual Meeting

Technica USA joined fellow members of the Printed Circuit Board Association of America (PCBAA) in Washington, D.C., for the Association’s Annual Meeting and advocacy events on Capitol Hill.

Founded in 2021, the Printed Circuit Board Association of America is a consortium of U.S. companies and industry professionals dedicated to strengthening domestic production of printed circuit boards (PCBs), IC substrates, PCB assembly, raw materials, and the equipment supply chains that support the nation’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem.

During the annual gathering, the PCBAA recognized Technica USA for its Outstanding Contribution to the Association. Frank Medina, Vice Chairman of Technica USA, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“Technica is proud to be part of an association that was created to provide our industry with a dedicated voice in Washington,” said Frank Medina, Vice Chairman of Technica USA. “We fully support the efforts of the PCBAA staff, board, and members to strengthen our industry’s influence on Capitol Hill over the past five years. As members, it is incumbent upon us not only to advocate alongside the PCBAA, but also on behalf of the PCBAA. Encouraging additional PCB fabricators, assemblers, substrate manufacturers, and OEMs to join the association is something Technica and other members can do to expand our coalition and amplify our collective voice in Washington.”

Printed circuit boards are foundational to modern electronics, serving as the platform that enables semiconductors to function within devices and systems. As critical microelectronic components, PCBs distribute power, data, and signals throughout technologies essential to aerospace, defense, telecommunications, infrastructure, transportation, healthcare, and consumer products.

Medina added, “It is encouraging to see what the Association has accomplished in such a short period of time. One of the PCBAA’s key priorities has been advancing a competitive tax policy that encourages investment in American-made PCBs and IC substrates. The Association supports a 25% tax credit for the purchase of domestically manufactured PCBs and IC substrates; a measure designed to increase demand for U.S.-made products and help reshore a critical technology sector that has steadily moved overseas.

“This proposal has been included in the Protecting Circuit Boards and Substrates Act introduced during both the 117th and 118th Congresses. I encourage additional PCB assemblers, OEMs, and industry partners to join the Association. Protecting America’s aerospace, defense, and critical infrastructure capabilities is a shared responsibility that requires the commitment and participation of the entire electronics manufacturing community.”
