The Good News in the PCB Market Outlook

10/16/2026 | Marcy LaRont, I-Connect007
There’s plenty of good news in the PCB market right now, but Dr. Hayao Nakahara cautions against taking the growth numbers entirely at face value. Higher prices for memory and scarce materials are helping drive some impressive financial results, even as order volumes tell a somewhat different story. At the same time, AI servers and advanced packaging are creating opportunities that could reshape where PCB manufacturers invest next.

The Right Approach: Old Philosophies, New Tools

10/13/2026 | Steve Williams -- Column: The Right Approach
Quality management as a discipline was built by a handful of people who never touched a neural network, yet whose ideas map onto AI with almost eerie precision. Dr. Walter Shewhart, Dr. Edwards Deming, Dr. Joseph Juran, Philip Crosby, Dr. Kaoru Ishikawa, and Shigeo Shingo each built a philosophy around a specific lever for improving quality, including statistical rigor, reducing variation, prioritizing effort, eliminating defects, involving the workforce, and error-proofing the process itself.

Flex PCB Body Panels in CubeSats

10/08/2026 | Anaya Vardya, American Standard Circuits
A standard CubeSat (nanosatellite) leaves an engineer with almost no room for compromise. A 1U unit is a 10 cm cube; even a 6U or 12U bus measures its budget in grams and cubic centimeters, not the kilograms and racks available to a traditional satellite. Every wire harness, connector, and mounting bracket is mass and volume that could otherwise carry a sensor, a radio, or extra battery capacity. That pressure is what has pushed flexible printed circuits out of the wiring harness and onto the structure itself, turning the body panels that form a CubeSat's outer skin into functional electronic assemblies.
