The Taichung City Government Education Bureau and Taipei City jointly launched a teacher training workshop.
As generative AI sweeps through society, AI education also needs to accelerate its pace. The Foxconn Education Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Taiwan Normal University, held a "Summer Teacher Training Workshop for High Schools Offering Artificial Intelligence Courses" in Taipei and Taichung on August 22 and 29 , respectively. The Taichung workshop was co-organized with the Taichung City Government Education Bureau to help high school teachers transform AI from a technological concept into real learning content that can be brought into the classroom.
The workshop, centered on "Understanding AI , Practicing AI , and Collaborating with AI," guides teachers to establish a complete AI teaching framework, covering topics from computational thinking, machine learning, neural networks, and image recognition to natural language processing and generative AI. Through hands-on activities such as gesture recognition and RAG Chat Bot, teachers can experience firsthand how to transform complex AI concepts into classroom activities that students can understand and operate.
This training not only teaches teachers "how to use AI," but also focuses on "how to teach AI courses back in school." The course provides a complete 18-week high school AI curriculum framework, along with teaching materials, program examples, teaching cases, and practical projects, allowing teachers without a strong AI or programming background to develop courses suitable for their students based on the teaching resources prepared by the foundation.
Wang Yonghe, CEO of the Foxconn Education Foundation, said, " For AI education to become widespread, teachers are the key starting point. Only when teachers know how to teach it can AI education take place in the classroom, allowing students, regardless of their region or economic status, to learn how to intelligently collaborate with AI at school."
The workshop was met with great enthusiasm, and the Foxconn Education Foundation will continue to encourage teachers to offer courses by providing substantial teaching support and assistance, and accompany more teachers to bring AI into the classroom, so as to truly cultivate students' understanding, practical and collaborative abilities needed to face future technologies.
