UniPixel Rebrands Newly Integrated Touch Screen Technology as “XTouch

UniPixel, Inc. UNXL, -1.97%a provider of Performance Engineered Films to the touch screen and flexible printed electronics markets, announced today the completion of the integration of the acquired Atmel XSense product technology into its own InTouch touch screen technology. The combined technologies are branded as XTouch.
The integration brings together the best attributes of each technology, which the Company expects will address key OEM (original equipment manufacturer) requirements for thinner, faster, lighter, and affordable technology. The Company believes XTouch could be a highly differentiated touch screen technology designed to deliver exceptional total performance and cost. The Company anticipates that XTouch will be especially well suited to address the segment of the market for larger screens, including notebooks, tablets and automotive touch screens.
Jeffrey A. Hawthorne, chief executive officer of UniPixel, commented, "This is an important milestone as we begin to aggressively ramp up our sales and marketing initiatives.
