Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD-8) met with executives and employees of IPC-member company Zentech Manufacturing, Inc. at the company's manufacturing facility in Baltimore, Maryland. Coordinated by IPC, the world’s leading association for electronics manufacturing companies, this visit is part of a nationwide effort to educate policymakers about legislative and regulatory issues that affect the electronics manufacturing industry.
“Thanks to Zentech and IPC for hosting me today. It’s great to see your work firsthand and hear from the people who make this Maryland company great – the employees. Manufacturing and engineering are critical pieces of Maryland’s economy,” said Congressman Van Hollen. “We must do everything we can to ensure we’re making things here in Maryland and America – and not letting these jobs move overseas. I’m committed to expanding skilled jobs like the ones at Zentech and giving Marylanders the education and training they need to succeed.”
Zentech Manufacturing, Inc. is a premier electronics contract manufacturing company offering PCB (printed circuit board) assembly, PCB testing, and PCB design services. Zentech’s President Matt Turpin led the site visit, sharing the company’s facilities with Congressman Van Hollen and leading discussions with staff members on key issues affecting the electronics manufacturing industry.
“On behalf of both Zentech and IPC, I want to thank Congressman Van Hollen for taking the time to visit today and see our industry at the core of its production,” said Turpin. “We appreciate his interest in learning directly from people on the front lines of our industry. We are eager to keep working with him, and with IPC, to find new and exciting ways to stimulate our industry and overall economic growth for Maryland and the United States.”
Congressman Van Hollen’s visit was part of IPC's "Meet the Policymakers” program, through which IPC government relations staff arrange opportunities for IPC member-companies to host elected officials at company locations. IPC member companies interested in hosting a legislator should contact IPC Vice President of Government Relations John Hasselmann at johnhasselmann@ipc.org.
