Rigid flex circuit board manufacturer, Printed Circuits, Inc. purchased a fully automatic, four axis (X, Y, Z and zoom) optical measuring machine from Ram Optical.
Named the QVI SprintMVP 800, it offers fully automatic measurement in X, Y and Z axis, as well as auto zoom functions, programmable lighting solutions, and multiple feature detection systems, make it a great all facet solution for Quality Assurance in rigid flex circuit manufacturing.
Bruce Fisher, PCi’s Quality Assurance Manager, commented, “This unit will get us to the next level of quality assurance on our rigid-flex and multilayered flexible circuits. It has the feature detection, automation and MeasureFitsoftware to inspect and verify critical aspects of our products – critical to our medical, military and aerospace, high reliability, never fail customer applications. It should be a valuable addition to our final inspection and reporting capabilities, but also will be a great tool for in process inspection, as it compares product to our customer’s original gerber files.”
