All Flex Launches Online Heater Design Course
April 4, 2016 | All FlexEstimated reading time: 1 minute
All Flex, manufacturer of flexible printed circuits and flexible heaters, has added a flexible heater design course to their online flexible circuit design course. It is a self-paced course that provides technical information to support the engineering community and allow self-paced education about polyimide and silicone rubber flexible heaters.
The heater chapter is an addition to the existing flexible circuit design course sponsored by All Flex and authored by John Michael Pierobon, an electronics industry expert and writer who has also taught numerous technical courses throughout the world. Since the 2012 introduction of the online flexible circuit design course, over 500 visitors have participated.
The free course covers basic design requirements based on thermal needs, calculation examples, mounting methods, and concludes with review questions. All Flex Senior Applications Engineer and resident heater expert, Jamin Taylor encourages people to take advantage of the course, “It is a valuable tool for engineers to increase their knowledge about flexible heater materials, constructions and layout conventions. The format is straightforward so it’s beneficial for the novice but experienced designers will find it helpful as well. It also caters to those who may just need a re-fresher course. Expanding this technical support capability was a natural extension for prospective customers and fits nicely with our Build-A-Heater™ offering.” All Flex introduced Build-A-Heater™ in November 2015; it’s a web-based heater configurator for quick turn heating solutions.
All Flex has been manufacturing flexible circuits for nearly 25 years and added flexible polyimide and silicone rubber heater circuits to their product line in 2008. All Flex also provides HighTemp™ heaters and comprehensive surface mount and thru hole component assembly services.
