Saturn Electronics Installs New Micronic Drill Machine
February 6, 2017 | Saturn Electronics CorporationEstimated reading time: 1 minute

Saturn Electronics Corporation, a manufacturer of advanced bare printed circuit boards, received and installed a new 4-spindle Micronic 86 Drilling Machine, which is being sold and serviced in North America by Calteks, LLC.
“Saturn’s multilayer business has more than doubled in the past year and now accounts for a majority of domestic production”, said Yash Sutariya, VP of SEC. “To support this change in product mix we purchased a new high speed drill from Micronic. As time and funds allow, we plan on migrating towards these higher speed drills throughout our entire drill department."
"In addition, Saturn fronted the R&D costs to develop Micronic's first all-new production router in more than 15 years, added Sutariya. The experiment was a success. The new design offers 2x throughput on standard rectangular outlines, and 3x output on complex outlines. “Saturn is in negotiations to issue a blanket PO to replace the entire fab department with this new style machine.”
“We’re extremely pleased with the performance and reliability of this latest generation equipment from Micronic”, notes Randy Cook, President of Calteks, LLC. “Despite market conditions in North America, the value proposition provided by Mania has allowed us to sell and install four machines in our first year and we have great expectations for the years to come.”
