ITL Group Marks 40-Year Milestone
February 27, 2017 | Integrated Technologies LtdEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
2017 marks a milestone celebration for ITL Group as it celebrates its 40 years in the industry. Founded on February 25, 1977, ITL has become a successful design and manufacturing partner for leading life-saving medical technology.
As the “go-to” contract design, development, manufacturing and consultancy partner for some of the biggest names in medical technology, the company has established operations in Shanghai, China and Richmond, Virginia, in the United States, in addition to its headquarters in Ashford, Kent, UK.
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, ITL has invested in a brand refresh and new website to reflect its global growth.
The company is also hosting a grand event at Lympne Castle in Kent on the anniversary date for staff from across the globe. The event will feature a company awards presentation, honoring employees for their contributions over the past four decades.
Today, ITL Group has more than 100 staff worldwide. During its 40 years in the industry, it has completed over 400 projects—from humble beginnings developing gamma counters for radio-immunoassays, today the company has a portfolio including in-vitro diagnostics (IVD), point-of-care devices, surgical robots, cancer staging and treatment, patient connected medical devices, and next generation DNA sequencing as well as expertise in the development of consumables.
“This is such an exciting time for us and it’s great to celebrate this anniversary with our loyal employees from all over the globe. We’re nothing without the expertise and dedication of our team, so for the 40th anniversary what was most important to us was saying thank you to them,” says Tom Cole, ITL Group CEO. “The industry has come a long way in the last four decades and we’ve seen significant developments in the processes and technology that we use; however, what hasn’t changed is our ethos—to enhance lives through medical technology. We’re honored to mark 40 years in the industry and are proud of all the life-saving innovations we’ve helped realize during that time.”
He adds, “Even though we’ve been around for 40 years and have built a strong reputation, we continually need to affirm our global position. This rebrand was all about showing that we’re a global player and communicating our abilities to take medical devices to new markets.”
ITL was founded as Wilj International in 1977. In 2013, there was a management buyout which saw Directors Paddy Greenwood, Tom Cole and Greg Smith complete the buyout from ITL’s previous Swiss owners.
Since starting out, the ITL group has grown from strength to strength each year. 2016 had been a strong year for the company, recording a profit of over £1.5 million.
