All Flex Introduces Automated Online System for Custom Flat Flex Cables
December 18, 2017 | All FlexEstimated reading time: 1 minute
All Flex, a manufacturer of flexible printed circuit boards and flexible heaters, has announced the addition of an automated tool for ordering customized polyimide flat flex cables (FFC). The web-based interface enables customers to select a wide range FFC features without creating a print or speaking with individuals.
Flat flex cables are a common interconnect method in electronic devices and due to the wide variety of package designs, the market has a need for FFC with a very high number of variable characteristics. All Flex addresses this need with an offering of flexible polyimide-based product that is rated for 150 degrees C and dynamic flexing, meeting the requirements for most of the market application areas.
All Flex’s automated configurator and ordering tool enables customers to quickly select options and to order parts on-line in one session. Options include:
- Shielding (top and/or bottom side)
- Custom marketing/identification including images and logos
- Cable end thickness options to mate with differing ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) connectors
- Cable length
- Number of conductors
- Pitch of conductors
- Type of contact plating at cable ends
- Conductor thickness
- UL certification
- English or metric units of measure
- Delivery window
Similar to the company’s Build-A-Heater online tool for custom flexible heaters, customers may obtain custom FFC in as little as one week.
