PDR to Show Compact X-ray Systems at APEX
January 2, 2020 | PDREstimated reading time: 1 minute

PDR, a leading manufacturer of BGA rework systems, test, and inspection equipment since 1985, is pleased to announce plans to exhibit its X-ray equipment at the 2020 IPC APEX EXPO, scheduled to take place Feb. 4-6, 2020 at the San Diego Convention Center in California. The company will display the GenX-90P and GenX-130P High Powered Performance, Compact X-ray Systems in Booth #1213.
The GenX-90P and GenX-130P offer truly remarkable image clarity with proprietary HD camera and software. The compact systems accommodate PCB sizes up to 21” (533mm) X 17.5” (445mm). Customizable Flat Panel Detectors or Image Intensifier options are available to meet varying application requirements. Additionally, the high performance X-ray systems offer programmable 4-axis (X,Y, Z 1/Z2) fully motorized motion control.
The GenX-90P features a 90kV, 8 Watt, 4um X-ray tube, 0.18mA with magnification up to 1100X. The GenX-130P features a 130kV, 16W, 5um to 6um X-ray tube, 0.18mA with magnification up to 665X.
Made in America, all X-ray systems exceed both North American and European standards for safety as well as providing factory personnel with software to analyze BGAs, QFNs, bond wire sweep, gull wing joint analysis, offset drill measurement, or custom analysis algorithms tailored to customer needs. Motion control can be automated and coupled with a library of custom algorithms to provide very low-cost semi-automated PCB or part inspection. Systems can be ordered with either a traditional image intensifier or high-resolution flat panel detector.
PDR Rework Systems remains at the forefront of rework technology by providing air nozzle free systems with advanced in-process control features and visible light that takes the guesswork out of rework. PDR X-ray Solutions was founded in 2012, distributing and supporting X-ray Solutions for industry under the PDR Brand as well as other well-known X-ray Brands.

But what about bringing this new functionality to the shop floor? The IPC-CFX-2591 QPL is a powerful technical resource for manufacturers seeking CFX-enabled equipment. The Qualified Product List (QPL) helps streamline equipment selection by listing models verified for CFX compliance through a robust third-party virtual qualification process.
The Knowledge Base: A Conference for Cleaning and Coating of Mission-critical Electronics
07/08/2025 | Mike Konrad -- Column: The Knowledge BaseIn electronics manufacturing, there’s a dangerous misconception that cleaning and coating are standalone options, that they operate in different lanes, and that one can compensate for the other. Let’s clear that up now. Cleaning and conformal coating are not separate decisions. They are two chapters in the same story—the story of reliability.
