Cicor Technologies Expands its New Microelectronics Division
March 27, 2007 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Cicor Technologies, the Neuchatel-based industrial group that specializes in developing and manufacturing printed circuit boards as well as offering Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS), plans to buy RHe Microsystems GmbH, which is domiciled in Radeberg, Germany. Following the integration of Reinhardt Microtech Group into Cicor, RHe will further build up the new Microelectronics Division. At the same time, it will give Cicor a further foothold in Germany. Once this acquisition is complete, the expansion of the new division will be continued at a rapid rate, through organic growth and further acquisitions, under the leadership of Hanspeter Reinhardt. The incumbent Managing Director of RHe Microsystems GmbH, Dietrich Zahn, and his management team will continue to lead the company itself. Cicor Technologies has signed a memorandum of understanding with the partners of RHe Microsystems GmbH, which envisages the integration of the company into Cicor Technologies' new Microelectronics Division. A long-term cooperation with the management bodies of RHe is planned.
Specialists in thick and thin film technology for microelectronics
RHe, which was founded in 1991, manufactures client-specific microsystems and microelectronics modules. Within the high-tech field RHe offers its clients a broad portfolio of technology, including services for microelectronics and for the interfaces with micromechanics and micro-optics. RHe offers the full range of substrate manufacturing (thick-layer, thin-layer, polymertechnology) including assembly of all components, packaging, screening and tests. This means that it can work very flexibly to meet individual client needs (e.g. combination of different materials and technologies).
RHe's main focuses as a manufacturing technology service provider are the aerospace industry and telecommunications. The company has a solid portfolio of well-known clients.
Cicor Group's new partner employs about 60 people and in 2006 achieved sales of EUR 6.65 million. The company will make a positive contribution to Cicor Technologies' consolidated results in 2007. The integration is planned for the beginning of April 2007 and it depends on the ongoing due diligence process as well as on various approvals that are yet to be granted.
