Zuken, LogicSwap Launch Design Migration Tool

MUNICH, Germany and WESTFORD, Mass. LogicSwap, migration software provider for Zuken's CADSTAR, launched a migration toolset for schematics, libraries, and PCB designs moving to CADSTAR from Cadence Allegro and Orcad, Mentor Graphics PADS PCB designer, and Altium Protel and P-CAD.
Users can maintain the designs' integrity when changing over from these incumbent design tools, without losing design data or being locked into the original design environment, according to Dilip Patil, president, LogicSwap Solutions. The CADSTAR migration software allows designers to reuse symbols, footprints, and supporting design data. They can also rework old designs in the CADSTAR format, adds Jeroen Leinders, Zuken CADSTAR distribution manager.
Zuken and LogicSwap have collaborated for more than six years. The aim of the partnership is to migrate customers to Zuken's design tools with minimal costs and in less time, reducing the impact on design cycles during changeover. LogicSwap's most recent design migration tool was from P-CAD to CADSTAR in February 2005; this toolset expands the offering to include several other design programs.
