Nordson Acquires Dage Holdings

WESTLAKE, Ohio Nordson Corp., based in Westlake, Ohio, acquired Dage Holdings Ltd. of the U.K., subject to approval from the German Federal Cartel Office. The companies withheld purchasing terms.

Dage Group, with about 200 employees, put forth about $59 million in revenue over the past 12 months. Nordson cited annual growth rates, a compatible market, and strong profit growth as reasons for the interest in Dage, and described its corporate strategy as acquiring companies with above-average growth in markets that Nordson companies currently serve.

"Dage will continue to operate as its own entity," said Edward P. Campbell, CEO at Nordson, noting that the test-and-inspection company maintains an excellent reputation with customers. Nordson will help Dage grow; Dage and its sister companies will be highly supportive of each other in the marketplace, he added.

Nordson holds other businesses such as EFD, Asymtek, and March Plasma Systems. The corporation employs about 3,600 people globally. "This early, opportunities for collaboration between Dage and other Nordson businesses remain to be seen," Campbell said, though he acknowledged that the companies share a similar group of customers in the packaging and SMT industries.
