Foxconn Join Hands with the World Sustainability Association to Invite Supply Chain Partners to Support the Sustainable Vision
July 18, 2025 | FoxconnEstimated reading time: 4 minutes

Taiwan's largest technology manufacturing company, Hon Hai Precision Industry, joined hands with the World Sustainability Association to hold the "Value Chain Empowerment Workshop", which attracted nearly 50 supply chain partners to participate enthusiastically. In addition to the Sustainable Development Strategy Director of the World Sustainability Association, Xiong Yixi, and the founder and chief technology officer of Renato Lab, Wang Jiaxiang, who successively explained the two major sustainability courses of corporate value chain management and circular economy practice, many ESG executives including Hon Hai Group Manager Huang Yicheng, Director Zhong Guobo, Chief Human Resources Officer Xia Guoan, Assistant Manager Chen Jianting, and Hon Hai Education Foundation CEO Wang Yonghe took turns to explain Hon Hai's future sustainable strategy layout, and invited upstream and downstream value chain partners to respond together.
"Environmental sustainability is not the responsibility of a single company, but a joint action of the entire supply chain," said Hon Hai Technology Group Director Zhong Guobo, who was the first to speak on stage. Hon Hai will continue to promote environmental protection and circular economy actions in 2025 , and has currently obtained 36 UL2799 waste zero landfill certifications, 33 of which are platinum-level. The Zhengzhou plant has become the group's first demonstration park to obtain UL platinum certification, introducing rainwater reuse and ecological greening, taking into account both employee welfare and environmental sustainability.
With the help of Foxconn, as of the middle of this year, 41 suppliers have achieved 100% renewable electricity production, and 22 suppliers have obtained zero landfill certification. In the future, Foxconn intends to continue to expand its environmental influence from its manufacturing business, strive to build a sustainable enterprise with "zero waste", "zero carbon" and "ecological integration", and lead the supply chain to jointly practice green transformation.
"Zero-pay" employment! Supply chain human rights due diligence will be launched this year
Employee care and welfare is one of the most praised ESG highlights of Hon Hai in recent years. Hon Hai Technology Group HR Director Xia Guoan emphasized: "Only by proactively preventing risks can we create an inclusive and cooperative environment," such as promoting the upgrading of employee dormitories, changing the original 8- person room to a 6- person room, configuring a bed and a desk with independent storage space, and setting clear standards such as more than 3 square meters of activity space per person to implement the company's commitment to labor dignity.
In recent years, Hon Hai Group has also established awards such as the "Supply Chain Co-Prosperity Development Award" and the "Hon Hai Sustainability Award" to encourage partners to implement supply chain human rights and environmental management responsibilities. Through a series of measures such as standardized contracts, risk audits and human rights due diligence, the sustainability and legal compliance of the supply chain are gradually improved.
In the past two years, many Taiwanese companies have received human rights audits from European and American brand customers, and relevant laws in various countries have been continuously strengthened. Some have even been sued for labor rights and discrimination, showing that all sectors attach great importance to companies taking care of employees and labor rights. Xia Guoan responded that Foxconn not only emphasizes "zero-payment" employment relationships to prevent foreign migrant workers from being burdened with heavy debts due to cross-border work, but also started its own supply chain human rights due diligence this year to comprehensively inventory potential risks and system gaps.
Chen Jianting, assistant general manager of Hon Hai Technology Group, also added, "We use a four-step management framework to promote the institutionalization of supplier management," which covers aspects such as formulating management standards, introducing digital transformation, transparent disclosure of results, and responding to external rating requirements. In addition to fully digitizing the supplier evaluation process, we also combine training mechanisms with performance appraisals, and enhance the sustainability of the supply chain through ESG empowerment courses such as green products, labor human rights, zero waste, and net zero carbon.
"Starlight Project" helps the disadvantaged, one-on-one counseling changes the fate of children
As for social care, Foxconn Education Foundation CEO Wang Yonghe shared Foxconn's achievements in promoting education for the disadvantaged with many industry partners through the "Foxconn Star Project" that day.
In the 113th school year, the project has provided assistance to 396 students at 28 locations across Taiwan , of which 226 received one-on-one academic tutoring, and provided support for students with complex family backgrounds. In addition, the foundation is also actively developing AI workshops for rural junior high schools , inspiring students' interest in technology applications through comic reading, robot assembly, and programming practice.
Inheriting the management efficiency of Foxconn, the foundation also ensures the quality of counseling for each case through rigorous partner screening, teaching record tracking, supervisor preparation, teacher training and other peripheral mechanisms. Wang Yonghe firmly believes: "We can really change the world of children!"
As Taiwan's largest corporate leader, through this "Value Chain Empowerment Workshop", Foxconn not only demonstrated its comprehensive investment in the environment, society and corporate governance, but also hoped to lead upstream and downstream value chain partners to move towards a more sustainable future through an institutionalized, collaborative and mutually beneficial cooperation model. This move not only helps to strengthen the competitiveness of the company itself, but also brings far-reaching positive impacts to the industry.
