Newark InOne Upgrades RoHS Compliance Website

CHICAGO — Newark InOne, a subsidiary of global distributor Premier Farnell plc, now offers new compliance help on its RoHS Express site for U.S. and Canadian manufacturers. With this site update, Newark InOne has identified four basic steps that an OEM will typically consider on its way towards compliance with the RoHS directive.
These steps inspired the revamped RoHS Express site:
Step 1 — Understand RoHS Step 2 — Analyze parts lists/bills of material Step 3 — Purchase compliant parts Step 4 — Assure RoHS compliance accuracyDesign engineers and component buyers can easily identify their level of progress, and use the tools and/or rich content provided under each step to progress towards compliance. For example, at Step 2, a company should be analyzing their electronic part purchases to see which are already compliant, which are changing their stock numbers, and which have compliant substitutes available.
