Michael G. Bennett, a longtime distributor of Taiyo America’s products, died of sudden heart complications on November 21, 2015. He was 58.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Bennett attended Texas Wesleyan University and studied computer science. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha.

Bennett joined the PCB industry as a plater in 1976 during his sophomore year in college. He was a salesman, manager, and business owner in the high-tech industry for the next 29 years, and for several years he ran a manufacturing facility in Guadalajara, Mexico. He began representing Taiyo America in 2003.

He enjoyed playing the guitar, and had recently begun playing bass. He was a faithful attendee of the World Championship BBQ Goat Cook-Off in Brady, Texas. Bennett supported local theater and musicians, and he was a Texas Rangers season ticket holder.

Mike is survived by his wife Terri; their daughters Melissa and Kristen; his mother, Sally Bennett; his sister, Karen Lerew, her husband Paul, and their sons, Chase and Logan. He was looking forward to his first grandson due in March. His father, Ken Bennett preceded him in death this past July.

Most all the action this week involved the STMA International Conference and Exposition. I-Connect007’s Real Time with… video interviews generally led the way for views and clicks. In each item, the intent was to make things better in some fashion. Whether it was pivoting on trade show delivery, optimizing the metalization process in the fab, adding more AI to manufacturing capital equipment, unifying and furthering the concept of the digital twin concept, or responding to company growth by upgrading systems with the help the equipment manufacturers, all these news items speak to being adaptable and forward-thinking.
